Has over 25 years of experience in endocrinology and advance treatment and prevention of Diabetes Mellitus and its complications, with expertise in endocrine disorders, diabetic foot care in patient care, clinical research, and chronic disease management.
Before relocating to the United States, Alvarez practiced as an endocrinologist and assistant professor at the National Institute of Endocrinology in Havana, Cuba, for 10 years. He provided direct patient care, trained future physicians, and contributed to national clinical practice guidelines for diabetes management. He also represented Cuba in the International Working Group of the Diabetic Foot.
Since moving to Miami, he has worked extensively in clinical research with the University of Miami and the Miami VA, contributing to groundbreaking studies in diabetes and endocrinology. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at international conferences.
Mr. Alvarez Seijas earned his Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification at Florida National University, graduating summa cum laude. He is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Florida.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, he is committed to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care. His clinical practice focuses on empowering patients to manage chronic illnesses effectively through education, evidence-based treatment, and personalized care plans.
